Chad - Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (Chad - CTN)

Chad – Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (Chad CTN)
According to the regulations of the Republic of Chad, all goods shipped to Chad or transshipped via other ports to a final destination in Chad must be accompanied by an Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN). ECTN stands for Electronic Cargo Tracking Note. The Chad ECTN (or Chad CTN) is a mandatory certification document for exports to Chad. Failure to obtain it may result in the shipping line at the port of loading being unable to issue the Bill of Lading, or the consignee at the destination port being unable to clear customs. One ECTN corresponds to one Bill of Lading, and the information on the ECTN must be consistent with the Bill of Lading.

Specific Application Process for Chad ECTN Certificate:
Required Documents
1. ECTN APPLICATION FORM
2. Draft Bill of Lading (DRAFT B/L COPY)
3. Stamped scanned copy of Packing List and stamped scanned copy of Commercial Invoice
Application Procedure
1. After the goods are shipped, please complete the application form and send it, along with the draft Bill of Lading, stamped scanned Packing List, and stamped scanned Commercial Invoice, via email to our operations colleague.
2. Our operations colleague will issue a fee statement based on the application form for your payment arrangement.
3. After you make the payment and send us the scanned bank slip, we will prepare an ECTN draft based on the documents you provided for your verification. You must carefully check the draft and confirm it by replying to us via email.
4. Upon your confirmation of the ECTN draft, we will submit it to the relevant authority for approval. Once the authority approves and issues the number, we will send the ECTN number to you. Please note: After the ECTN number is issued, no modifications can be made to any information except the Bill of Lading issuance date, sailing date, vessel name, and voyage number. Otherwise, a modification fee of USD 75.00 will be charged for each amendment.
5. Within three calendar days after the ECTN number is issued, you must send us the scanned original Bill of Lading and reconfirm the ECTN content. Once you confirm everything is correct, we will apply for the original ECTN certificate for you.
6. The original ECTN certificate (in PDF format) will be sent to you via email. You need to print it out or forward it to the consignee at the port of discharge, freight forwarder, or shipping company, etc.
Note
**The ECTN certificate must be processed before the shipping company issues the original Bill of Lading.
**The validated original ECTN certificate (in PDF format) will be emailed to the applicant, who should then forward this original certificate to the consignee at the destination port and the shipping company, etc.

For both domestic and international clients, payment can be made directly in RMB. For foreign currency telegraphic transfers, our company will need to charge additional foreign exchange handling fees and intermediary bank charges.
